Welcome.

Welcome.

Rainier Environmental is a Bioassay Laboratory providing regulatory support to clients with permit requirements for the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program. The NPDES permit program, part of the Clean Water Act (CWA), addresses water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants to waters of the United States, and permits are required for disposal of waste material into “waters of the state,” including rivers, lakes, streams, and all underground waters.  Wastewater Discharge Permits are also required for many industrial users that discharge industrial waste into sanitary sewer systems and for facilities that have stormwater runoff to surface waters.

Our accredited environmental toxicology laboratory conducts both acute and chronic toxicity testing for water, stormwater, product and chemical samples to identify effluents containing possible toxic materials, as well as the Biological Testing Method 80-12 for the designation of dangerous waste in Washington State. We partner with our clients to support permit compliance, including consultation, quality assurance, and the analysis, interpretation, and application of toxicity data.
